Why I stared LGP in Wilmington.
I read about Claire Wasserman and her company Ladies Get Paid late one night back in 2016. She talked about how she hosts events in NYC for women to come together and share workplace war stories. Her goal was to empower women and close the wage gap. At that time, I was also in a place in my career where I wished I could attend something like this.
I left my job in the spring of 2017 and by the fall I gathered some of my most badass boss lady friends to help me make LGP happen in our city.
We are lucky enough to know some really boss ladies that were gracious enough to share their stores with us. The impact of hearing a woman IN REAL LIFE tell her story is remarkable and lasting. Ladies Get Paid town halls are for women who care about uplifting themselves and the ladies around them.
That's why I am SUPER excited about our next town hall - BRAVERY- on Thursday, October 11th at 6:30 PM at the South Front Great Room. We have gathered an AMAZINGLY STRONG AND BRAVE group of woman to share their story. (Also, might I say very stylish!)
Our fabulous speakers include:
Mandy Houvouras - Outreach Director at the Domestic Violence Shelter and Services
Drewe Smith - Stylist and Co-founder of Drewe and Kate
Lorin Van Zandt - Founder & President of MISSIO Hair
Molly McDonough - South Front Renaissance Division Manager
Moderated by the lovely Shea Carver, editor of Encore Magazine
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and we are asking all of our attendees to bring a donation for our local shelter. Little or big - everything helps!! Here's a link to the shelter's wish list!
The event will be held in the Great Room at South Front Apartments. VERY LIMITED SEATING !!
